This is an important question to ask yourself as a leader, as it clearly indicates whether you are satisfied or dissatisfied with the performance of the individuals on your team.

This question is all the way more important when it comes to the performance assessment of leaders. Sure, you should always work on improving the performance of any team member who’s not quite hitting the mark, but when it comes to leaders there is an urgent need for action if the answer to this question is ‘no’.

Why? Because how they perform has a massive impact on their whole team and goes even beyond.

📈 The end of the year is already close and so is the annual performance review.

If you have to address performance issues, I do not recommend to sugar-coat.

If you want to see things change, you have to be absolutely honest about it.

I know this is challenging but any sugar-coat will diminish the seriousness and the need for action. However, keep it respectful.

👆High performance is crucial for a competitive advantage. Don’t be lax about it.
