That may sound good, but that combination can actually be the main ingredient leading to burnout. Jobs are still designed in a way that results in excessive workloads. So, if a person is placed in a job without the necessary experience, combined with the right mindset and motivation they end up getting overwhelmed. In this situation, the struggle to deal with the many issues that emerge in adequate time and effort will be too difficult

Having a personal life is important for everyone, but a person who finds themselves in this situation with their lack of relevant experience is unlikely to have any time for it.

Just to clarify:

I absolutely don’t think people should only do what they are experienced in. However, I am convinced there are two different types of inexperience in the face of a new position. One is a healthy lack of experience which is a space to grow. Such a person will close the gap between needed and actual experience within adequate time and grow along the way.

One is a destructive lack of experience when it takes far too long to close the gap and the person burns out. Yes, the person will still grow from this experience but at what costs?

It is important that those responsible should have a better understanding of who would be a good fit for a job, considering that the candidate should be able to grow 𝗮𝗻𝗱 get the job done.

💡Qualifications are overrated, experience certainly is not!
